How do I add an app to my iPhone or iPad home screen?

  1. Open the install link in Apple Safari. (Third-party iOS browsers like Chrome or Firefox do not support home screen shortcuts due to iOS restrictions).
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up) in Safari's bottom toolbar.
  3. Scroll down the action sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Verify or edit the icon and app title, then tap Add in the top-right corner.

How do I add an app to my Android home screen?

  1. Open the install link in Google Chrome or an Android Chromium browser.
  2. Tap Add to Home Screen on the prompt, or tap the three dots menu (⋮) in the top right.
  3. Select Install app or Add to Home screen.
  4. Tap Install in the confirmation dialog.

Troubleshooting

Why is the camera showing "Camera unavailable" or permission errors?

If you previously tapped "Don't Allow" or blocked camera access, your browser remembers the choice:

  • On iOS (Safari): Tap the aA icon on the left side of the address bar → tap Website Settings → tap Camera → change setting to Allow. Reload the page.
  • On Android (Chrome): Tap the tune or padlock icon next to the URL → tap Permissions → enable Camera.
  • On Desktop: Verify that your webcam is connected and that browser camera permissions are enabled for the site origin.

Why do I have to log into sites again after launching from my home screen on iOS?

This is expected behavior on Apple devices. iOS Safari isolates standalone Home Screen web apps (PWAs) inside their own isolated WebKit storage container, separate from your main Safari browser session. Cookies and local logins are kept separate for security and privacy. Once you log in inside the standalone app, your session will be maintained there.

Does QR to App store or track my scanned links?

No. QR to App has no database, no backend server, and no tracking scripts. Camera frames are processed strictly in your browser's local memory. The entire app definition is encoded directly in the URL query string.

Can I use QR to App while offline?

Yes. QR to App's application shell (scanner, customizer, icons, and libraries) is cached locally by a Service Worker for offline availability. Note that target third-party websites you install will require internet connectivity unless they are specifically designed as offline PWAs.
